Pastor James Henson

Pastor James Henson was installed as Senior Pastor of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on January 10, 2021. Born in western North Carolina in July of 1980, he has always enjoyed the blessings of God as he was surrounded by a family that loves God and God’s people. A native of Rutherford County, he grew up in a church that was no stranger to the moving of the Holy Ghost and the preaching of the Word of God. 

After graduating from Appalachian State University, Pastor James applied to work with the North Carolina Sate Highway Patrol in 2002. As his career progressed, it was evident in his heart there was more that God had planned for his life. 

In October 2019, he was invited to preach a revival at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. A year later, he was invited to become their pastor. With his wife Kiley (married in 2003), along with his three sons, Eli, Madox, and Brody, and his one daughter, Norah, they faithfully serve our church, our community, and more importantly our Savior.
